Children's Home + Aid

Here's a sneak peek of the save the date I'm working on for CH+A. (They are amazing btw, check them out!) My brother-in-law was kind enough to model for the reference pictures the day before his wedding. Good guy Chris.

This illustration is colored pencil on stipple paper. It's a medium I fell in love with as a child while reading Chris Van Allsburg's The Garden of Abdul Gasazi.

Elk Drawing

In the summer of 2010 I lived and worked in Yellowstone National Park. It was where I climbed my first mountain, saw my first elk, and where I met my husband. Yellowstone was an amazing place to fall in love. This is one of the few drawings I did while living there. I wish I had drawn more, but the beauty was overwhelming and intimidating. I'll go back and paint the crap out of it someday, but until then, I've got to get back to practicing.

Bake It Out

Sometimes you just have to bake it out and your poor husband is left to clean up the pieces... those tasty, tasty pieces.

In Progress Painting

Personal projects are so crucial to an illustrators career, but, when you don't see immediate results (like money) from them, it can be hard to stay motivated. This is a piece that I've been working on, here and there, for the past month. Time to get it done!
